Print & Complete Medical Information Forms prior to January 27
All families of touring musicians are asked to print out the Medical Forms (linked below), and fill them out completely. Please bring the completed forms (which include making a copy of the student's Insurance Card) to the required Parent/Student meeting on Tuesday, January 27 (7 PM / Auditorium).
We are providing this form in advance of the meeting so families have plenty of time to find and note the required medical information, as well as make photo-copies of the front & back of the student's Insurance card.
If your family has multiple children traveling on the tour, please print out these forms for EACH traveler.

Black Binder Assignment Expectations
All touring musicians must put together a black 3-ring binder that contains their personal tour sheet music.
We have discussed this expectation in class, and shared with students the resources needed for obtaining their individual parts and transitioning them to the binder.
All Concert Band & Symphonic Band students should have their binders with them at this Wednesday night's rehearsal (6:30 - 8:30 PM). Staff will check binders at that time.
All Wind Ensemble students should have their binders in class on Monday, January 26. Staff will check binders at that time.
This binder will be packed by students into their individual suitcases for transport to NYC.
Binder guidelines ...
- 1/4 inch or 1/2 inch (preferred)
- Solid black (matte finish preferred)
- Plastic sleeves (non-gloss) for sheet music
- Name label on the inside cover of the binder
- Go to your CSD99 Google Drive
- Search for "DGN Bands - Shared Course Folder"
- Look for the folder that contains the name of your band, and open it.
- Navigate to the appropriate folder / parts

CHANGE of Rehearsal Date for Symphonic Band & Concert Band Members
In September we announced a series of evening rehearsals for the NY Tour. (Original post here.)
We must make one unanticipated adjustment to the rehearsal schedule for the Tour Symphonic Band (which is made up of students from our Symphonic Band and Concert Band). This change does not impact Wind Ensemble students.
Due to a scheduling conflict with our guest artist - Peter Wilson - we must move the previously scheduled January 22 rehearsal UP ONE DAY, to Wednesday, January 21.
Dr. Wilson will be flying in from Washington, D.C. next Wednesday to work with our students in this critically important rehearsal. It will be the only opportunity for our combined Symphonic Band/Concert Band students to work with Dr. Wilson prior to the concert at Carnegie Hall.
The rehearsal time remains unchanged (6:30 - 8:30 PM).
Here, then, is the complete schedule, as amended to reflect this change:
NYC Tour Families/Students are asked to please make note of the following required rehearsals and tour meeting.
Please note that not all rehearsals involve every student. Please check the dates and times carefully, and add these rehearsals (and the required meeting) to your calendar as appropriate.

Collaborative Team Effort
There are many behind-the-scenes logistical and organizational components associated with a performance at Carnegie Hall. One of the most time-consuming to date has been the development of publicity materials, including the large 40"x80" poster required by the hall for advertising. District 99 Fine Arts teacher Mr. Marty Voelker, who designed this impressive poster, has been a remarkable contributor to our efforts. The poster is now en route to New York where it will be displayed, in rotation, in the large display cases the adorn the exterior of Carnegie Hall.
Thank you, Mr Voelker, for spending countless hours on this project. Your collaborative spirit is at the heart of what makes District 99 a wonderful place to teach and learn.
